HCSD Online Application Process

Note: Record your userid and password when you begin your application process. You will need in the future to update and access your online application. You will use this same userid and password for any future applications.

The following items are needed to complete the application process:

  • Valid Mississippi Educator License (certified applicants only)

  • Transcripts

  • Past work experiences

  • Three professional references (with email addresses preferred)

  • Verification of prior teaching experience (certified applicants only)

  • Complete an online application

  • Note: you can upload digital copies of documents to your online application.  

     

Other Required Documents

We must have copies of the following items in order to be considered for employment in the Hinds County School District. You will either upload to your application or provide these documents upon hiring. 

  • Copy of Educator License

  • Copy of  college/university transcripts

  • Copy of PRAXIS or NTE Scores (certified applicants only)

  • Recommendations from three references 

  • Verification of Prior Teaching Experience (certified applicants only)

Fingerprinting and Background Check Fee

The district charges all newly recommended employees a non-refundable fee of $40.00 for fingerprinting and background checks as required by MS Code §37-9-17. New applicants must pay in cash only at the time that they are fingerprinted. You must also have your Social Security Card and your Drivers' License. The Human Resources Office will contact you to schedule an appointment once you are recommended.
